[Lumberton, Texas] — Local pastors from throughout Hardin County met with Mr. Daniel Geraci of Austin Disaster Relief Network (ADRN.org), an Austin based Long Term Recovery Group, on Monday to discuss the possibility of establishing such a group in Hardin County in the wake of Hurricane Harvey.

The meeting was hosted by County Judge Wayne McDaniel and was held at the Lumberton Central Fire Station. Geraci discussed the basic structure of Long a Term Recovery Group (LTRG) to those in attendance and he described the reasons for establishing LTRGs in communities after widespread disaster. Primarily, the reasons are to provide better-organized assistance to survivors and to attract needed resources like manpower, materials and money into the community.

The group has agreed to further explore the idea of creating an LTRG in Hardin County and will meet again on Thursday, December 7, at 6:00PM in the County Courtroom at the Hardin County Courthouse.

All area pastors, business leaders, community leaders, and public officials interested in facilitating the founding of a robust and enduring Long Term Recovery Group in Hardin County are encouraged to attend. This meeting is not for the general public.
